The purposes of the society are to support seed saving, seed knowledge, and seed security in the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys.

Check out below to see what we’re up to these days.
Our choice for the 2026 Community Grow Out is the magnificent Mongolian Giant Sunflower — a towering, open-pollinated sunflower known for its impressive height, enormous blooms, and generous edible seeds.
For those gardening in smaller spaces — raised beds, small plots, or patio containers — we’re also offering the compact Teddy Bear Sunflower. Growing to about 3 feet tall, it produces fluffy, double golden blooms whose petals are also edible. It’s perfectly suited to pots and urban gardens, without sacrificing cheer or beauty.

We will be at several local Seedy events this year.
